Katy Amini

My name is Katy Amini, a Persian-Canadian artist based in Toronto, Ontario. My work is deeply rooted in creating art that invites people to reflect, interact, and connect. I see art as a bridge—a way to link individuals not only to their personal dreams but also to one another and the world around them.

Drawing inspiration from the techniques of the old masters, which I studied at the Academy of Realist Art, I combine classical traditions with modern, participatory experiences. My Persian heritage, with its rich storytelling and history, informs my work, as does my belief in art’s potential to create a more peaceful, honest, and connected world.

I am particularly drawn to interactive projects that empower audiences to become collaborators. I seek to engage people directly, encouraging them to step into the creative process and leave their mark. Through my art, I aim to transform viewers from passive observers into active participants in a shared artistic journey.
